Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ's
Yes, what is discussed in your session remains between you and I, unless:
- You give me explicit permission to discuss with a third party (your GP, partner, etc)
- I perceive that you are at risk of seriously harming yourself or another person
- If my notes are subpoenaed by a court of law
Should any of the above scenarios transpire, I will always have a conversation with you first before taking action.
Any notes taken by myself in session are also stored within secure electronic software.

At this stage, you cannot claim rebates on our sessions. You may be able to claim with your private health insurer from mid-2026. Should you proceed with sessions, you will be notified of this change when it occurs.
Yes, I offer in-person appointments at the centrally-located Mount Lawley Counselling Centre (https://www.mtlawleycounselling.com.au/index.html)(1/13 Alvan Street, Mount Lawley 6050). There is parking at the rear of the building, as well as ample street parking on Alvan and surrounding streets.
Yes, I offer telehealth (online and phone) appointments. For many, this is a convenient alternative to in-person appointments due to busy schedules, commute time, health concerns, or other reasons.
For video conferences, you will receive a custom link sent from my client management software prior to your appointment. You do not need to download any apps or software to participate in the session. Should there be unexpected internet issues or power outages, sessions can continue via phone if you feel comfortable.
There is no limit to how many sessions you are entitled to. As an example, people will usually book up to 10 -12 sessions over a calendar year. Appointments are usually spaced out fortnightly, and then booked in as needed. I am committed to checking in with you throughout our sessions to see how you feel you're progressing and how much support you require.
Sometimes things come up and we can't make the allotted time or forget that we have a booking. Due to limited availability, if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please give me at least 48 hours notice. Late cancellations, including rescheduling on the day of the appointment or not attending an appointment 15-minutes after the allocated time, will incur the full appointment fee. More information about this can be found on my terms and conditions page.(https://www.elysiabullen.com.au/_files/ugd/04f213_13eabe6bfb29475c866a6639e1d74951.pdf)
