My Therapeutic Approach
Hover over the tiles below to learn more about how I work.

I know that it takes courage and vulnerability to explore painful and challenging experiences. My primary focus is on building strong therapeutic relationships with my clients based on trust and safety, and believe that this is the foundation for positive growth and change.
Building
Strong Relationships

I have a warm, relaxed and conversational approach in therapy and do not pathologise or diagnose individuals. I meet clients in the here-and-now of their experience, considering the whole person: mind, body, and spirit, and recognise that these facets are interconnected. I will gather background information in our initial session and formulate an understanding of how your history, environment, spirituality, relationships, general health and nutrition shape your world view, neurobiology, and mental health.
Holistic and Non-Pathologising

I draw on a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions including: cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), internal family systems therapy (IFS), and Schema Therapy. I also utilise mindfulness, existential and somatic therapies where appropriate.
Integrative and Evidence-Based

I currently provide in-person appointments at the centrally-located Mount Lawley Counselling Centre in Perth. I also offer telehealth (online and phone) counselling sessions for convenience and flexibility.

My Values

As your counsellor, I am deeply committed to understanding and hearing your life experiences without pathologising or judgement. No matter how difficult your challenges are, you will receive warmth and respect in a safe environment.
Compassion

No one deserves to walk their path alone, and my role is to walkalongside you – not to direct you. However, if you have specific goals you would like to discuss, we will collaborate to find a flexibly tailored approach to suit you.
Collaboration

I enjoy infusing creativity, spontaneity and humour in my sessions. This may include art therapy, collaborative whiteboard work, or in situ behavioural experiments during sessions. Learning is to discover that something is possible.
Creativity

I believe that meaningful healing emerges in spaces where authenticity is welcomed and modelled. In my work, I bring myself into the therapeutic space with honesty, presence, and emotional attunement, recognising that genuine connection fosters safety and trust. By meeting clients with openness and respect, I aim to create an environment where they feel supported to explore their inner world authentically, without pressure to perform, minimise, or conceal their experiences.
